tire date code

Can anyone help me determine the manufacture date of my goldline tires? I believe they are Coker reproductions and they read: DOT E 4 290... (only three digits) Also there is a white bold 13 printed on the tire... Firestone Deluxe Champion 7.75 15 tubeless ...Made in New Zealand All of the above are on the inside of the tire... Does the 290 mean the 29th week of 1990?

Since you dont have a 4 digit date, the tire is probably from the 29th week of 1990 and extremely dangerous to use. See the link below.

I just purchased the car... New radial tires are on order... I'll save the old ones for judging...

Pete, if you can post a picture of the DOT date on your tires you will probably get a more definitive answer. It does sound like you're on the right track however.
