I am a new owner of a 1966 427/390hp C2 Corvette. It has been in our family since 1971 and just recently I have come in possession of this jewel. I need assistance with my passenger side power window. It does not want to roll down. It has power to the motor it seems since you can hear a clicking sound as well as the interior light dims a bit when you depress the down button for the window. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
First off, welcome to the Corvette Forum. Always loved Silver interiors. As to your question, how far into this have you gotten? Door panel removed? Anything obvious that's possible binding on the window's ability to move? Even though the car has been in your family's possession for a very long time, corrosion can still be a problem with electrical contacts, both positive and ground connections and that can start with the PW switch under the dash.

It is really not troubleshooting, but if it's been sitting a long time with the window up the first thing I would do is hold the window down switch and then close the door firmly several times I it's sticking and it breaks loose it may work, worth trying.
Getting the motor out is not easy so I would take the door panel off and lube everything with wd-40 (won’t hurt paint) bump ant tap motor with holding the button on. Watch your hands!
It could be that the grease in the gearing has dried up. Most people use the drivers side window much more than the passenger side. I can't make out if you have a coupe or vert. If you have to take the motor out, there is a paper on the forum called the Anatomy of a C-2 Door. The paper will supply you detailed instructions on how to get at the motor. Once the door panel and inside inspection panel is off, I would bring direct power to the motor from the battery. There should be two wires going to the motor. One is for up and the other is for down. The motor grounds itself through the mount. If you can't get it to work with direct power and ground, pull the motor and service it. There is another paper on the forum as how to do that. Do not make the mistake of replacing the original motor with a new "offshore" motor. They are worse than garbage. If it's just grease that is the problem, thoroughly clean the motor and replace with something like Mobil synthetic grease. Check the main gear for missing teeth. You can turn the gear over to use a section that is still good. Now would be a good time to remove and clean the switch. Wilcox has a paper on that as well. Lastly, be careful inside the door. There are many sharp edges and it's easy to cut yourself. Jerry
