Which makes you immediately uptick the heart rate thinking, maybe an original AC car?
Which makes you think OH NO MORE WORK if true so I silently put this out there as a curious observation at best
is there any way I can tell from body or car itself if it was? Fark, I am almost afraid to ask the questions.
Please post a picture of the opening in the firewall for the fan motor. Lets see if your car was born with A/C.
looks like a regular circular opening with the correct positioning bolts for the non air blower and not the weird looking opening that I see on page 243 of the AIM
so I am safe Never been so happy to not have more work to do, money to spend, and try to find a piece of equipment that makes hens teeth look plentiful
May just be a dash frame somebody swapped in to replace a butchered original..
Many had large holes cut for aftermarket radios or holes drilled for manual chokes or to mount a big tach, if only these cars could talk...
If your car was an original A/C car it would have been a big headache to reproduce all the 63 A/C stuff but then it would have been one of only a few hundred. I'd have done it...

Holy carp that's almost as bad as restoring all the parts for an original fuelie.
OP, I feel your angst of "what if it was" and the mixed thrill of "oh boy" combined with "what's it going to cost to restore it to that." I recently stumbled onto what I thought was an indication that my '65 might have been built as a fuelie, and was doing mental gyrations on what it would take to restore it if it had been one. $$$$$
There was a gent getting a split window judged at Lakeland Regionals in 2016 (when my car was judged) and was campaigning a survivor car he had just purchased (maybe bought from New Jersey ? Don't recall for sure) - Chuck Gongloff or Tyler Townsley might remember it. He bought the car sight unseen and when it was unloaded from the transport discovered it was a factory A/C car.
This comes under the heading of, "....stuff that will never happen to Frankie"

I like to think that I earned everything I have ever gotten out of life, which means I didn't get any breaks either
I have to work for any good fortune that comes my way and if I take my eye off the ball for a split second things can turn into dung before your very eyes
Lotto tickets? pfft I might as well just burn the currency

I'm with you fellas. My personal findings are that just avoiding the most stupid mistakes, being lucky enough to not bet taken out by random chance or a drunken driver, and not having any bigger health problems that I have had are as close as I will get to winning the lottery, and in a sense it is just that.
In the end I was relieved that my '65 was not an original fuelie - I don't need the expense or the aggravation of restoring it to that level for a '65.
As far as buying lottery tickets - I passed math in school so I don't buy lottery tickets.

The holes for the AC in the dash looks factory to me..
Hope the drawing and pictures below can be to some help
I guess it is possible to check if they have fiberglassed the battery access panel on the front left side inner fender (behind the wheel)
Here you go. This is a picture of the cut outs in the firewall for the right hand side vent - opening in the firewall for the fan motor for the factory Air Condition 1963-67 Corvette
This is from the assembly manual
The other picture shows the right hand side vent on C2`s with factory Air Condition and the battery access panel that sits fastened with screws on the left side inner fender
