Default Generator drive

1961 base Corvette
Need to freshen up the threads on the generator tach drive where tach cable attaches. Anybody know what size die to use?
Thanks

A thread file would be your best bet to clean up those threads without removing metal. The count on the gen drive is 18 tpi.

Thanks..have always used dies in the past but the thread file looks like a great tool to have in the shop, especially for a variety of larger bolts.
