Default Replacement Window Sticker

In searching the Forum for sources for a replacement window sticker/build sheet for my 64 coupe, I’ve seen several suggestions, but all have lead to a dead end. In trying the NCRS Museum website, it appears that records are only available for cars post 1981 and built at the Bowling Green factory. Has anyone had success with another source for C2 information?

Thanks, Henry

Do your research on the RPO codes and comment or call them to ensure you get what you want.

How were the window stickers put on the windows back in 1960?

If you are looking for an exact reproduction of your original window sticker, you won't find one. GM did not keep those kind of records back then. If you want a replica, with the options you think your car came with, you can use a company like the one in post 2. They will work with you and create one that looks like it belongs to your car. But as far as the real thing: unless the original owner peeled it off and handed it down to subsequent owners, it does not exist.

If I recall, with glue. The original owner took a sponge, dipped in hot water, soaked the sticker until it loosened enough to peel off.

Yep. You carefully wetted it to get it loose enough to carefully peel off of the window, but not so much water as to make it easily tear. Even then it was hard to avoid damaging them. Much more difficult to remove than today's stickers.

Interesting that it doesn’t list the model year (unless I missed it somewhere).

The number circled in red is a master number that traveled with the car through the system. If you have no other documentation you can just make one up.

I believe but I am not sure that NCRS validates documents by comparing the VIN and this number with what the GM microfiche they have indicates. I'm not sure they will supply the number but I would expect not. It would just provide the counterfeiters more input.

63Driver. Yes that is the ident number. That number is found on the 67+ tank sticker and on the GM shipping records that NCRS got from GM That is what NCRS compares with. And No they will not give out that number.

Yea, I was trying to say that without sounding absolute.
