Soft top pad question...
Simple question... How far away from the side window weatherstrip rail should the edge of the pad be aligned? I assume that it should be parallel, but how far away - should it touch, or 1/8", 1/2", or more?
Can this be answered without a video?

I would say you want to keep it about 1/4" above the side rail. It may even touch the raised just past the corner. They do not have to be 100% parallel. You just want to make sure that the pads don't show.
The pads are very important for a nice job. So, make sure you take your time, measure and make them as wrinkle free as possible. Only put a couple of stables in the rear as you may have to reposition that area later.
