Wel, I took numerouse photos before removing the steering column and dash cluster. Unfortunaterly, Murphy had his way, no photos on phone now. My question: Can anyone tell me where the insulator and retainer mount on the steering column ciollar. The two different copies of the AIM I have are such poor qualliy tht thry are useless. It goes inside the escutcheon. It stops the jack shaft from rattling around. There are grooves in there for the clip to rest in. Put some lithium grease on the rubber before you slide the jack shaft in.
OK, I am really confused. Mine has a rubber "O" ring that fits oveandinto the collar. Let me also say that I am not sure if this is a '63 column or not. I inheritied this car that supposedly was completely "restored" but the more I delve into it the more I find wrong.
