Default front brakes

will 65-7 disc brake caliper brackets fit on 63 spindles? Will the disc rotors work on the drum brake hub? Have rear 65 trailing arms with disc brakes so want to switch the fronts to factory style as well if possible Thanks

Pretty sure you will have to upgrade to 65 up front spindles and hubs as the caliper bracket will not work on drum brake spindles. Also the hubs have a different offset I believe..I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.. I also believe you will need different emergency cables as well for the rear

Yes, you'll need to switch to the '65 and later spindles and hubs. I would also recommend finding some reconditioned original caliper mounting brackets. I went through two different sets of aftermarket reproductions, both of which were slightly bent, or out of spec, resulting in the caliper not fitting the disc correctly.

C3 front spindles, calipers, etc also work. I did my front brake disk conversion using parts from a '75 Corvette. Parts are readily available.

Same problem, but in Finland :-)
Have you changed the master cylinder to dual cirquit..??
Is there any master cylinder that fits to original -64 hood without any cutting or fixing ??
In corvette zip they sell -65 original style master cylinder and -67 style master cylinder.
But also a repair part for the hood.. to fit attleast the -67 model.

Any advise ?

Yes, they do fit and will work. They need 69 and later steering knuckles and caliper brackets, though. 65-68 spindles/knuckles/brackets use a smaller bolt to clam those components together. Some have drilled out 65-68 steering knuckles and brackets to fit 69 and later spindles, but I don't recommend that. You need everything that bolts to the spindle (except the calipers) to be 69-later to make it work.

Welcome to the forum Yka. Many forum members have done this conversion and many will be willing to help you but please start your own thread with this question and be sure to state the year and if you have or plan to add power brakes and type brakes you have drum or disc. If you do not have power brakes no mod is necessary to the hood. If you have power brakes use washers or spacers or make a bracket to make the master level.
