I read an article about the shortened meeting, it was pushed to tomorrow because of a potential conflict of interest on the Carlisle events side...brought up by the dept of health, of course.
The GOOD news is that the judge seems to be very favorable of Carlisle Events...She was skeptical about the states compliant for several reasons...she even asked if this was in the interest of public health, why did they not seek an injunction against the organized protests, in which the governor participated?... I don't think the promoters could have picked a better judge
With the judge they pulled, the state knew they were in for an embarrassing loss, one that might morph into other events they didn't imagine.
Hopefully, this means that Corvettes at Carlisle is still a possibility.
I will say that Carlisle Events needs to stress mask use more strongly, because video shows the majority of show goers not wearing them... it's a poor optic to the general public.
Well, got this off Carlisle’s web page. Hope the rest of the years events are included.
Department of Health/Carlisle Events Joint Statement
"The Pennsylvania Department of Health is committed to protecting the health of Pennsylvanians, and our mission of a healthy Pennsylvania for all.
We are pleased to have worked with Carlisle Events to improve its efforts to protect Spring Carlisle vendors and patrons and the public from COVID-19. As a result of those efforts the Department and Carlisle Events have resolved the current litigation.
We will continue to work to protect the health of Pennsylvanians, while also assisting businesses as they work to reopen."
Was there today and was the oddest show I ever been to up there. It just did not feel right. With most if not all the big vendors not there. And a lot of hobbyist vendors not there it was empty. There still was a fair amount of vendors there selling various things. Not to much in the way of Corvette parts. So for those who where going to travel fair to search of Corvette parts it’s a good thing you stayed home. It’s a good thing I am fairly close. I kind of wish I would have came up on Friday.

This is my problem with events that the states try to shut down... even if they aren’t successful in stopping them, they usually wind up kinda half-*** with people not that interested in going.

I do think most of the vendors backed out when Carlisle Events moved the date twice to this weekend. And the whole deal went on in April when it was supposed to happen. The Pa state law suite just added fuel to the fire to die hards that would never miss the show. Hopefully by the Corvette show or even the fall show it will be better.
Hopefully by August things will continue to improve and the State won't get people scared about attending the show. We're planning to be there with a trailer full so I hope the crowds come back and people enjoy the show for what it is. K87/K88.
