PM your mailing addr and I'll USPS one to you later today. I'm going there anyway to send Pat in CA something too.

I forgot I had all this stuff.

This is what the innards of the coordinator look like. I rebuilt one from this stash for that 61 I did a few years ago.

They typically don't hold vacuum because the rubber diaphragm lip on the black plastic plunger goes dry. Cleaning the cylinder and some silicone grease does the trick IIRC.

Sent PM, Rich. Thanks!

All packed clamp and screw ready to go. The clamp is quite intricate and has a flange to lock it into the groove in the base.

It has a part # debossed on it... 88284-3. Probably the manufacturer #..

From several. A friend gave me some as he didn't want to use them on his cars.

I think I have the wiper coordinator hooked up correctly and, thanks to Rich5962, have the necessary parts now, but I don’t understand how it functions. I don’t need the washer part to work just want the parts there to look correct, but I do want the wipers to work properly.

Something isn’t right, the cable wire isn’t hooked anywhere and appears to just push against the plastic slider to turn on the motor. But the spring action of the coordinator pulls it back so it won’t stay on. The coordinator itself doesn’t slide, does it? What is wrong???

Norm yes it's supposed to slide under the clamp. You may need to file down the square shaft, then add a little oil to it.

The coordinator is normally activated by vacuum, the wiper **** button. It jogs it out to kick in the washer pump system and turn on the motor.

Thanks Rich, I’ll fix that. Must the coordinator be hooked to vacuum in order for the wipers to work?

No not at all. In fact my 59 had no FOA washer system and it had the coordinator too. I did the opposite of yours. That's why I have it in a bag along with the others.

Default Wiper Motor coordinator

Just installed Jay's rebuild on my wiper motor / coordinator as well as my heater blower motor.
Top notch job. Great guy to deal with also.

Look in my Part FS Ad HERE

I'm on the road but I'm pretty sure I have all of my wiper leftover parts in there somewhere.

Do a search in that Ad using Ctrl F, search string, "wiper". "washer". Don't use "Search This Thread", it's broken, has been for decades.

Someone mentioned how crude these systems are or words to that affect. Stop and think about what Trico did. A fully automatic system that would start, spray your windshield, wipe several times, return to park and then shutoff with the push of a single button. ALL mechanically, no circuit boards , diodes, resistors. Pretty darn remarkable IMHO.

Drive em safe
