Default Distributor position help needed

I am installing the distributor on my 383 63 SWC
I want to use the stock shielding and coil mount bracket
I installed the distributor at top dead center based on pictures I saw
However as I am going to mount the coil bracket it appears the vacuum advance is going to interfere
As you can see in the pictures below, the bracket is not over the mounting bolt when the contact begins

That said, I think the vacuum advance is going to move away from the coil bracket as the distributor is
adjusted off of TDC

I am thinking I need to reinstall the distributor so that the vacuum advance is not contacting the
coil at TDC.
Is that correct?
Or will the advancing the timing be enough to give clearance?

The orange tape is on #1 with the metal window facing forward

Thanks
Glenn in San Diego

OOPS
I just found this in the AIM

Am I right in assuming this is at TDC?

I wouldn't assume that. No.

I posted the details of this on another thread
but the solution was to pull the distributor and rotate the gear at the base
of the distributor 180 degrees
Now works as desired
