Just hooked up my heater hoses. I have a Edelbrock intake on the car it didn;t have a outlet for the heater hose. I came off the top of water pump for one hose and one off the lower part of water pump. can;t get any heat hoses don't get hot at all. My question is will I need a hot water valve and if were does it go?

Jim, it sounds to me like you have the hoses hooked up to the water pump bypass and water pump return. The net effect will be very little flow to the heater core (only that which is bypassed and was already cooled from the radiator). If there is no access to an outlet on the intake manifold (which is where the coolant will already have been heated) you may want to look into some form of adapter with an outlet under the T-stat housing or possibly finding a fitting somewhere else on the block. :seeya
...i'm not sure i know enough about the flow of coolant here but if the solution is to tap off the tsat housing, you should look for a later model tstat housing with the tapped boss for the emission control temperature sensor...i use that version on my bb to house the existing temperature sensor rather than mounting it on the head
