Bench test instrument cluster
I'm using the instructions for bench testing the instrument cluster for mid years written by Dave Zuberer and Tim Welsh. A couple questions to those that have done this. I've installed a new wire harness and have a good ground. When you power up the instrument cluster, it shows the lights, turn signals and the red lights of the brake,high beams and light are all lite up. My turn signals and the three red warning lights do not come on. They all work when I get to their section and test them individually. Do I have an issue or were the instructions incorrect? My other question was testing the turn signals. The instructions say that the key has to be on to test them. Mine work even with the key off. Is that a problem?

Thanks for sending that out. I think that answers the first question. The new version also says that the ignition switch needs to be on to test turn signal lights but mine work with it off.

buns, thanks for posting that. I had two copies of that on my computer and both had the same date on them of May 2016. I had to open them up to look for the difference. Certainly appreciate the update.
