Does anyone know of a modern paint & paint code that matches the bright blue paint Chevy used on the bright blue stinger stripe on black big-block cars that had a blue or blue/white interior? I did some googling, and found a Lucite striping paint code for "Bright Blue" striping paint used for Chevrolet's only. The Lucite code was 9311LH, but I couldn't find any cross-over info or a modern paint manufacturer or code that matched up to this old Lucite number. Anyone repainted their bright blue stinger?? If so, what brand paint did you use, and what was the color name or paint code?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get my hood redone now that I'm almost finished with the L-88 cold air duct install.

I don't think the color is Marina Blue or any other of the blue body colors ... Marina Blue has a different Lucite paint code number for one thing, and many years ago I bought a pint of marina blue (thinking it would match), and it didn't (it had a metallic sheen and was more silver). This blue is a sky blue without any metallic effects, a lot like Ford's "Bahama Blue" that they put on old and new Boss Mustangs ... Surely someone has repainted their car in the last decade and used something for this bright blue paint ...

What color car is yours. everything I read is the bright blue stinger color used on white, and black cars where marina blue, the teal color one was lyndale blue. the red strip was rally red, the black was tuxedo, and the white was ermine white
My car was repainted black (maybe even Tuxedo Black) at some point prior to my ownership starting in 1991. It has the sky blue hood stripe. This post, which you commented in, shows a subtle difference in paint names in Noland Adams C2 book - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...er-colors.html Post #4 show that black big block cars with bright blue or bright blue & white interiors got a "medium bright blue" stripe. At the bottom of the picture from Noland's book, he calls Marina Blue "bright blue" as a body color.... My car looks like this one in terms of the black/blue body colors: https://www.rkmotors.com/vehicles/10...vette-stingray It would be nice to find a modern paint that was close in color match ...

Just go to your local paint store and get paint code for 67 976 marina blue. Don’t make this harder then it has to be. The paint shop at St. Louis has a limited number of paint to pick from

Thanks to all who took the time to reply ... I'll consult with my body shop pal and see what he can come up with, and try a test panel ...
Sincerely,
