Must connect between MAF and throttle body. Just follow the air flow and it will make sense. All the air consumed by the engine goes through the filter and past the MAF. The MAF measures this air flow. A small amount of air is diverted to go through the PCV system. The majority goes to the throttle body. That small bit of air goes through the crankcase and then back to the intake (after the throttle body) to be consumed by the engine. So in the end, the engine does get all the air the MAF measured, which is what you want.
