I put studs in all of mine, easier to align the gaskets and motor mount/water pump.

Do you have two bolt hole patterns on the flange and eight holes?
If so that is a replacement pump, IIRC you should use the smaller bolt circle.

Are you inquiring about the stud to which the generator brace attaches? Assuming so and assuming your generator is on the passenger side of the engine, put it in the upper, passenger side mounting hole.

Since someone is actually talking about this "stud" that the generator/alternator bracket attaches to---yes--it does go into the upper hole on the passenger side BUT--
Does anyone know where i can buy a new one of these puppies. When I bought the car the threads on the outer portion---which tighten against the alternator bracket have stripped and I would like to replace this.
Cant find one anywhere.

Yes---I found it and ordered it this am.
Once I discovered just what "THEY call it" it turned out to be easy.
The problem with internet searches is that you have to know just what it's called in order to find somethig.
Thanks Everyone.
