I would like to get a sense of the cost to have a small block Chevy engine shipped. Carb to pan water pump to bell housing flange, no flywheel, clutch or trans etc. Bakersfield Ca. to and hour north of Detroit MI. I'd like to hear from anyone that has shipped and engine lately.
If you have a Fastenal in Ontario, they will ship big objects store to store.
I'm familiar with Fastenal's Blue Line shipping. I just used them to ship a C1 posi from Michigan to Florida. Things appear to have gone well. I was surprised by the cost though.

Trying to get some perspective from those that have shipped an engine recently. Or those familiar with the shipping industry.
These guys are a broker, but I’ve had great experience so far. Over the last 6 or 7 years, I have shipped A half dozen engines and two transmissions with no issues and reasonable cost. You might just get a quote to use for comparison.

I was the recipient of Dan's (Rumblegutz) shipment from the Detroit, MI area to the Tampa, FL area, and I can say from my end, it went very well.
It arrived at my local Fastenal location on 8-27 in the afternoon. I couldn't make it down until the following morning. I did so on 8-28 and brought it home. Easy peasy.
Shipping cost was $130. The posi rear was crated and shipped on a pallet
