I am asking for opinions in regard to using Header wrap on the mufflers inside the Hooker side pipes. I have already ceramic coated the headers and outer covers, that reduced the temperatures on the outer covers, I am thinking by wrapping the mufflers themselves I will reduce the temperatures further, possibly enough that you wouldn't get burned if you accidently touched the outer cover when getting in or out of the vette.

The mufflers have ends that fit tight in the covers, they they taper down considerable to a small diameter. I would only cover the taper and the smaller diameter.

when you say covers, do you actually mean the side pipes that the muffler slides into?
Personally I can't imagine a significant temperature difference since the flared ends of the muffler will still be in contact with the interior of the side pipe and they will eventually reach the same temperature.
