Depending on when in the model year your '63 was assembled it may need 0, 2, 4, or 0 blocks. Usage varied. If your car ever had hood alignment blocks, you should see evidence of them at the inboard edges of your inner fenders and at the outboard edges of the hood.
From my understanding the blocks were used to decrease false hood openings. I have them on my '63 (1 pair since I lost 1 pair) and they achieve the goal of no false hood openings. My front end was replaced and did not know where to place them, so I used photos to approximate their location closest to the hood latch.
Below is a link to the CF discussion of these blocks: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...es-1963-a.html
I hope this helps.

Just look on the hood for the holes they have to bolt in there and then match up on the surround panel where the lower pieces go. There’s also a reinforcing bonding strip on the lower ones closest to the hood latches.
all original hoods had the holes with or without blocks. That inner hood skin even went into the beginning of 64.

It has been my experience that earlier (pre VIN 7500) or so had hoods without the nut plates for the hood wedges. At that point nut plates appeared in 4 locations but the number of wedges varied from 2 to 4, back to 2 and then none. As mentioned the nut plates continued into 1964 even though the 64 hood skins were different.

This is not true.
My '63, #3493, has no blocks and no provisions for the blocks anywhere.
