Look Fellers, if the wire is getting warm, it's giving off power (as heat) which isn't reaching the headlights. The whole reason for the remotely located relays is to get more power to the lights. So it doesn't make good technical sense to waste some of the available power heating a wire.

Yes, Jim, but there is no such thing as 100% efficiency. If there was, engines wouldn’t need cooling systems and wiring wouldn’t need 400 degree capable insulation. There will always be heat, just not too much.

I'm not proposing violating the 2nd law of thermodynamics. And it's not a factor here.
It makes no sense to waste power heating a wire in the headlight circuit when the whole purpose of a remote relay in that circuit is to maximize the power reaching the headlights.

Yep. It's kind of like mounting a huge carb on a high rise intake and topping it with a one inch tall air cleaner for hood clearance.

This thread gave me my next product idea.... Supercooled wiring harnesses. I'll try to have them ready in time for stocking stuffers.

Gentlemen:
You give me no choice but to post this link here for your review and edification. If you have seen it before watch it again. Can't hurt.

I plan to sell the Lucas Replacement Wire Smoke Kit and just rebrand it for Corvette at ten times the price.

Yes, you will notice some smoke is missing. I had to use it for the wiring harness in my 1988 Land Rover.

I myself have not had good luck when trying to put the smoke back into components!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
