Hi All, would like some opinions on this blockstamp. It appears the owner sanded the paint off the stamp instead of using paint thinner. It certainly affected the integrity of the stamp and broach marks so really hard to evaluate it and would like some opinions. Many thanks!

You need more light on the pad for a good pic, also advise this moron to use lacquer thinner to remove the rest of the paint so you can tell if there are any discernible broach marks at the top of the pad where it meets the head. That may be the saving grace. ARA

I didn't check my black book to correlate 10500 with Dec 10, 65, but from where I sit the stampings look typical.

OK so if the pad is all rusty and paint splattered, How should one clean it?

In Dec 65 the O was a fatty. By March 66 the O had lost weight.

The only 100% way to see if the sanded pad is real is to pull the head and see if broach marks are consistent....or under the paint. Poor quality of photo. As for the other pad, let’s just say I would not use it as reference point.....

"All" of the characters in F1210HT assembly date stamp posted by mhspielman match perfectly with the other F1210HT stamps in my files.

No expert - but from my layman’s perspective that would look like a perfect representation of what an original, unmolested stamping would look like.
