[C1] 62 spindle support question

62 spindle support question
Related to my front suspension rebuild, I have a question. I am getting everything ready to go to sandblast/powdercoat. My question is if I should leave the spindle and support together for blasting and powdercoat and take it apart afterward, or disassemble it first. Looking at Tom Parsons thread and a couple others, looks like it has been done both ways. Thanks!

There will be grease (to a lesser or greater degree) inside the spindle bores, thrust bearing, and between the bearing, shims and spindle support. Your powder coat place may or may not be OK with that. Otherwise, you will need to disassemble them and thoroughly clean the spindle/support. If you have to separate the parts, you do NOT want powder coating inside the bores or on the contact surfaces between the spindle and king pin knuckle on the support. All those surfaces need to be bare metal.
