Default door handle issue

Quick question I bought a 59 resto mod project and I'm missing something on the outside door handles. What connects the lever mechanism to the door handle? I see how the rod in the handle goes thru the mechanism to lift the lever up but I don't see what holds it in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll post some pics shortly

It sounds like you may be missing this lever.

I have those little levers, is it those 3 round clips that attach the lever to the back of the handle?
Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes I have those levers but what holds them in place behind the door handle?

If the door handles are new and the levers aren't installed yet there is a rounded piece on the back of the door handle. It is held in by spring tension. If you push in on the rounded piece where the **** rod goes through you can turn it 90 degrees and it will come out. Then the lever piece with the hole in it gets put in and turned 90 degrees to take it's place. Make sure you put the correct lever in, there is a left and right side. Bob

Glad I could be helpful. I built a 61 resto-mod eight years ago and I just started a 62 about two months ago. I just started cleaning all of the door latch parts last week and they are still sitting on my work bench. This forum is a wealth of information, I couldn't have built my car without it. Bob

I just got it in September, it has a RS111 tube frame chassis, C4 suspension with coilovers, a 6L ls2 and a Muncie 4 speed
