If you want to swap the bearing support with the axle and parking brake assembled on to new bare arms you can. You have to remove the rotor and then the parking brake shoes to access the 4 nuts holding the support to the arm, the axle nut and flange have to come off first. With the 4 nuts and washers off nothing is holding the support to the arm except maybe rust, the support assembly will come out with a tap or two. The new arms are powder coated and that includes the ID of the large hole where the support goes, you have to grind the powder coat away to bare iron or it won't fit and will drive you crazy. Once installed torque the 4 nuts, use new lockwashers, to 40-45 ft/lb and the axle nut - using a new cupped washer, to 100 ft/lb. If the cotter pin hole is off tighten until it lines up , pin it and check rotation and endplay. If the bearings were correctly set up there should be no change in what you had before- what ever that was.

Merry Xmas

Anyone who rebuilds arms sells TA parts will have the cupped washers, I always keep 12 or so in my stock box. Crown side up against the nut so it will be compressed when torquing the nut.

For getting the shoes out, it can be done with the axle in place but you have to work through the adjustment hole to press and turn the hold down springs and cups. You can buy or make a spring tool. It's just a flat blade screw driver you cut in some slots with a cut off wheel to make a fork for grabbing the springs to pop them out of the shoe holes. You can spread the shoes and pull out the star wheels. The bullet end points to the front on the RH side and to the rear on the LH side.
