Question , what fuel octane will a 1967 435 corvette run on . 91 I hope? when I was a kid My mom had a dodge with a 426 hemi and it pinged all the time from cheap gas . Found a nice car and before I get into the deal want to really know if it will run on pump gas ..thanks James
It depends on whether the 435 is stock. A 426 Hemi had 10.25 compression and the L71 has 11 to 1 compression. 91 may be a bit low but I would ask the seller the specs on the motor. Retarding the timing a bit may help as mentioned or the use of octane booster could help too. A 67 435 Corvette is great car that you will enjoy.
I would recommend about 12 oz per tank Zaino with every fill up. Fuel will slide through the carburetor with less friction and later you can devarnish your valve stems with just a California duster.
You really need to move over to the C1/C2 forum and connect with those gurus if you haven’t already. The depth of experience there on all things C2 is incomparable. Answers here aren’t wrong, but in the C1/C2 forum many L71 owners will reply. Mine’s a high compression L72 and I’ve never used an additive, but run premium non-ethanol. Best wishes. Hope to see you over in the C1/C2 forum. AND I’ve found only Advanced Search here is worth a flip.

Yes I am not that lame, been around the block many times . I love this forum most guys on here are very helpful . Just never had a bb corvette , so wanted to be sure it would run on pump gas . Asked the seller and he said that it runs just fine on pump gas . Going to have car inspected , as its on the east coast ,I am on the west coast . It scored 96.6 on a top flight , he sent the car to f40 motorsports in Connecticut to fix the problems as that's were the car is Hope all goes well I want to drive it .Thanks for the e-mail and Happy Newyear to you .
