I'm thinking of replacing the factory 4 speed shifter with a Hurst Competition/Plus shifter on my '67. Is there a part number for the shifter body alone or do I need to buy the complete 3917960 assembly?
If memory serves right, you need the whole assembly. The shifter mounting plate is different as are the operating rods. The Hurst shifter mounts on the transmission like 65 and earlier. Some of the vendors sell a replacement shifter handle that looks like a factory one if you want to keep stock appearance.

I know I will also have to buy the installation kit with the bracket and rods but I was wondering about the shifter body without the handle and ****.
The handle may be separate since there are a number of various shaped and length handles that will bolt to the shifter body. Or you can buy a Muncie handle replica that bolts up to the Hurst shifter body to mimic a stock shifter like this.
Or my stock Hurst shifter handle looked like this:
I know this is (or was) also a variation of this handle that curved back which many Corvette owners used.
Correct, this is the Hurst Comp Plus shifter with fake lock out in my 63 with the replica handle:
How do you like that arm rest/drink holder? Does a 63 have the seat belt holder clips in fron f it? I don’t see them but the make that arm rest in two different lengths for that purpose but the pictures don’t make it clear if you can access the seat belts with it in place. Where did you buy yours?

Just a heads up. The early style comp+ shifter for C2 is very different between BW T10 and Muncie. The one for Muncie has reverse arm going forward at 90 degrees. The are both advertised for Corvette. I ran into this on my 66.
