Regarding my comments in my post #7 I should elaborate. I bought a new vinyl top from Al Knoch and had a shop “attempt” to install it. They called me and said it was too short. In doing some research I discovered this to be a somewhat common problem. I called and spoke with Al and he seemed to deny that it was a common problem but did send me a new LONGER top. To date I have not installed it because he told me cars that are stored for more than a week should be stored with the top UP otherwise there is a strong possibility that the vinyl will shrink and attempts to put it back up could cause damage such as windshield damage due to excessive force from trying to latch the top down. As I stated in my post #7 I will only put my top up on my 57 IF I get caught out in the rain. I have since decided I will buy a fabric top as they are more “forgiving” with regards to shrinkage since as stated I store my car with the top down and with a car cover on for the winter. So, I will have a new in the box white vinyl C1 Al Knoch top for sale if anyone is interested.

I’m the one (post 15) that said the top on my 66 restomod “shrunk” after being down for many months. It’s a cloth top, so I hope it’ll be more forgiving when left outside on a hot, sunny day. We had an original 66 prior to the resto and that top was often down for months at a time, also. Never had an issue on the few rare times the roof was put up. ( that was also a cloth roof)

My Midyear daily driver's in the 70s were driven on sunny days all the time in Wash.DC winters. Hat, Coat and heat on high.
