Trying to find the best match for under hood paint on my 66. Also if anyone knows of an adhesive to the hood surround support that matches the original brown color and consistency.
Krylon 5 ball 1613 semi flat black is a perfect match to original. You must use a sealer that is flexible for the hood braces are you sure the brown isn’t from age all the ones I have taken apart were black.
I use dap roofing shingle sealant. I clean up where it goes put A small amount at each location then close the hood and leave it closed for at least 48 hours.

So I paint the entire underhood with black and then overspray the edges with body color or do I stop the black at the under hood support structure edge and use body color after that? My NCRS has pics of the "correct" overspray but wasnt sure if the entire underside was painted black first.
Can be used with or without hardener. I like hardened paints so they don’t wipe off with carb cleaner, and other solvents. They are also far more durable.
Can be used direct to metal.
The sheen can be adjusted by adding flattening agent.
Can be reduced with generic solvents.
If you google “alk 200 spec sheet” you will find the cut sheet. It has everything you may want to know about it.
go to globalindustrial.com. Their part number K01613A07. They sell it minimum quantity of 6. It is acrylic lacquer and sprays really well. I believe Krylon sells 1613 at a lot of retail shops but isn't the same paint.

Its not the same you want it labeled INDUSTRIAL as I noted, and the stuff touches up invisibly too,,
