I'm curious what price you think this car should have fetched..... It achieved its reserve. I thought it was an interesting listing with a '65 VIN, '66 hood, '67 parking brake.
No, it's not - there's a major difference in the floorpan tunnel, and the pulley brackets welded to the frame crossmember; there's more to this car than meets the eye
That is amazing. I am glad I am not in the market for a C2. Buyer Beware.
I think it is a 67 chassis with a 65 body. The wording of this advertisement is convincing however.
I'm curious about the retrofit of a '67 emergency brake onto a '65 car. Is that easily accomplished?
It may not be easily accomplished (per JohnZ) but I have to tell you that IF there was only one mod I could make to either of my 66's it would be to change them to a 67 parking brake setup. :yesnod:
Otherwise, I can't really cast too many stones as my 66 coupe has a 66 small block front clip, big block rear clip, 67 frame & int parts, and a 65 bb hood... (from all appearances it was an endurance race car in the late 60's).
This car may have a "restoration frame" made from a 68 up, with 67 parking brake braket already on it. notice no mention of the tilt wheel in it either..
The car would look almost perfect from the picture perspective if not for the out of charachter parking brake installation. A flag like that would lead me to question the integrity of the #'s matching claim.
WOW you guys are good I looked at the pictures first to see what I could figure out about the car being curious.I could tell nothing wrong I was even looking at the position of the shifter thinking well its not a hurst they dont throw that far.All looked correct and I was just thinking that emergency brake cover did not look like it was the correct color but even thought I know its was only used in 1967 it just never looked wrong .I should never buy anything off ebay I would have figured it out in person but from the photos I gave no thought what so ever it was wrong.
Its only a matter of time when this guy finds us and logs on to tell us about asking about the rarity of it with the real earley production emergency brake.
Now I know one of you must have allready contacted the seller so WHAT DID HE SAY
..you think this is good, you should have seen the responses that polyrocks got on a car he was looking at on the east coast - i went with him to check out the car and these guys were correct down to the level of mis-aligned front buckets, concluding where the car was hit, etc, etc.....i was amazed...
