Peter Brock is an active member of the design team. This is his sketch
This is his original sketch made while at GM that Mitchell adopted as the style direction for the Sting Ray
This is the later development that Peter tried to convince Mitchell to adopt. Notice nose down and tail up (Peter wanted more up than this) but Mitchell turned it down saying that Corvettes are not driven faster than 90 mph so aero didn't count. Peter left GM before the Sting Ray racer was built or the production car was developed. Among his more famous later cars is The Shelby Daytona, the only American car to win the World Sports Car Championship in 1965. By the way Peter was right, the Sting Ray Racer flew more than once when the aero lift on the nose was too high
