Hello. I think at some point my 66s engine bay got a spray can treatment and 55 years of grime. It’s a St Louis car so I think it would be correct for the hood hinges/catches to have some overspray. I don’t want to overrestore them. Would you leave as is or clean up with some paint thinner? I do like the gray look of fresh ones. Is there any concern in taking the original finish off if I do use thinner? I plan on leaving them on the car so I don’t screw up any alignment.
