Default Dash lights

My dash lights seem to be dim on my 61. Any ideas on how to brighten them up . The switch seems to be working. But not shore if this is normal for a C-1..

My first question is.... Do the lights dim or go out when you turn the headlight switch?
Assuming there is a difference - and you are getting 12v to the bulbs - I saw a real improvement by changing out to LED lights in my dash.

Yeah, several reasons, I’ll take a stab at this,

rheostat in light switch bad or dirty
old wiring with too much resistance
bulbs need to be replaced. Most of us changed over to LED’s but be aware some are not dimmable.
bad grounds

I’ll let the experts chime in here now.

Switch does work as it should. Where do you get the led bulbs and are they a direct replacement? It has a new wiring harness put in about 15 years ago when car was restored

Most of us get our LED’s from
https://www.superbrightleds.com/ or Amazon.
