Default Quiet Ride / AcoustiShield Install

I had a heater core leak a few weeks back which soaked my passenger well carpet and the pad. After pulling the carpet back it I found some terrible foam padding which looked like it belonged under some 1970 **** carpet.

No sense in trying to dry that junk out. I ordered a deluxe AcoustiShield / Quiet Ride floor pan kit and started the install today.

First step was to remove the seats, seat belts, and carpet.

Mmm foam. Yuk.

With all of the foam removed I cleaned up all of the old foam and dry adhesive.

Once dry and clean I followed the instructions to apply the pre-cut dynamat pieces. Dynamat doesn't need to fully cover the entire panel. I've used this material on over 10 cars/trucks and half as many boats. The kit comes with everything you need.

Once the Dynamat was laid down I test fit the heat shield pieces. Tomorrow I will start to glue them down and seal the edges with the foil tape

Thanks! Did you also use their firewall insulation kit?

Hey John,

I sent you a PM. I didn't buy the firewall kit. I didnt see it listed on Corvette Central site.

Working on gluing gown the heat shield. It seems like its recycled bluejeans and a space blanket. Cool stuff.

Will post more pictures later.

Passenger side done! Lays down well. Onto the driver side and then I need to clean the carpets before reinstalling them.

Carpet back in and starting to look like a respectable automobile again. Really happy with the quality of the kit. Everything you need is supplied for you. Cut to shape and ready to go in. Hard to tell if it will reduce the noise on a roadster. It is hopefully better than that home depot padding the original owner installed.
