Oh, Yeah!!! I'm a big fan...have watched every episode, some, many times. It's Myth Busters for engine stuff. Just watched episode 69, which was small block Chevy ****, for sure. Swinging that 331 to over 8k rpm was certainly erotic for us small block people. That 8k motor was really something. The cam made my CompCams Nostalgia 30-30+ solid cam seem like a 300hp stocker. I'd love to have heard it at idle.
I would have loved to see them run the first "budget" set up with solid lifters as opposed to the hydraulic to see if it would have pulled all the way to 7K.
But yes, that second combo was pretty impressive. The only downside is that intake would NEVER fit under a small block Corvette hood....I dont even know if it would fit under a '67 BB hood.

I'm going to have to check out a few episodes. I haven't watched anything new on that channel since MT took it over. They let most of the shows I watched go. I think Kindig is the only thing I watch on that channel. The Engine Masters challenge used to be a well publicized event. It wasn't my cup of tea but those guys went to extremes to make the most horse power.
I really enjoy the Engine Masters show and have actually learned a lot from it. Unlike a lot of the other automotive related content, theres no artificial drama and you get real conclusions at the end of each episode. This one I found particularly interesting.
