Default Part stumper?

As I'm going thru the recently purchased car I'm looking for things that need to be addressed. I found this strange part taped to the wall inside the rear storage compartment. It's about 5" long, made of aluminum and I'm not sure what it is. I'm assuming there is a need for it or why else would it be taped to the car so it wouldn't get lost? Is it for a C2 or just there because?

I believe it’s the lower dipstick tube. Goes in the block into the oil pan

I would say a generic flare fitting tube for maybe a fuel inlet. The lower dipstick tube is steel.

I think it may be for the oil dipstick as the current one in place is a chrome flat blade style unit and the tip of the dipstick looks cut off with no markings to show level of oil. This tube is less than 6" long and if it is for the dipstick, was the original dipstick a flexible small diameter round rod?

Is it the drain tube in the channel at the rear hatch?

When you say rear hatch is that for convertible and exactly where would it be so I can check to see if it's missing. Thank you.
