I’m not sure if that is the correct name but saw it was listed that way on several vendor sites. I’m talking about the vertical cover that attaches just behind seat at the end of the door. Anyway, are those painted or vinyl covered? I was looking through pictures and some seemed liked they had a cover and others extremely smooth and painted.
I’m thinking of covering mine in vinyl but was wondering if that is a bad idea. This is on a convertible by the way.
Thanks. Is there any reason why you couldn’t cover them?
Chris,
Just one more thing to peel and bubble as time goes by. Repainting them is far easier to maintain...but, as always, your car...do as you please.
The previous owner of my car had those pieces carpeted. When I replaced my carpet this spring I was like "where are the new pieces for these parts?" That's when I learned they should be painted. Now I've got some nice original panels that have carpet glue all over them. Haven't decided what to do in my case, but hopefully yours are in good shape and can easily be repainted.
Thanks guys. I was wondering about the bubbling. I hope to have the seats and dash pads going to the interior guy soon. I need to get my door panels ordered so he can do my inserts. I thought about having the qtrs done and the parking brake console as mine is pretty rough. There is one bubba drill hole to repair in one qtr.

Not sure what year C2 you have but they are usually painted interior color. If red interior paint red, if blue carpet with white interior, paint white.
You can fix the hole in your side cover with a plastic welding gun, once repaired and painted you won’t even know it was there. How bad is your emergency brake cover, as long as there is still the texture of the grain shows a good repaint is all it would need.
Elwood, strip the paint off the cover and see what the goobers are. They may chip off, if so, you can refinish it with ease. I did mine back in May, but it didn't have goobers on it. Dennis
It’s pretty rough Gavin. As far as the hole, I was gonna try and glass it but will look into the plastic welding.
this is entirely fixable,
little time and paint, try the plastic welding it works, if I’m not mistaken you can also get swathes of grain to match what you have , I have a kit , if you can’t find it and I can I would be happy to send it to you . It’s pretty cool to play with the different grain.
Thanks guys. Here is a pic of a previous patch from underneath on the park brake console. Looks like I have an extra hole in each quarter.
Those look good Holt which leads to the question of what color to paint the quarters. Unless something changes, the carpet, dash pads, door panels and seats will be black. The waterfall and shifter console will be blue. The seats and inside the racetrack on the door panels will have a blue stitching designs. The dash pads will have blue double stitching.

there were some crappy repairs to the parking brake console, still I think a good striping, cleaning and paint will refresh it,
worse comes to worse I would wrap it in leather, I wouldn’t carpet it, those holes can be filled and sanded smooth,

Elwood, are you asking about the interior rear quarter panels or the parking brake console????
Your picture is the parking brake console.
The thread started on the quarter panels and I did a right turn with the parking brake. There are a couple pics at the end of the holes in the quarters but they are not full shots of the quarters.
