Default Rare optioned 67 convertable

Just bought a 67 corvette with factory side exhaust. It is a BLUE?BLUE origional interior 300HP auto,ps,pb speed minder vinyl hard top AC. Origional spare & jack. All the paper work POP window sticker tank sheet on the whole tank out of the corvette. Owner history and was owned in 74/5 by Bill Mock. Talked to him and he remembered the car and sold it to his Dad. Will be delivered tomorrow. Have owned hundreds of old corvettes but have never saw a factory 300 HP side pipe and AC

A blue on blue 300 loaded car is not all that rare Having one with proof is the rare part. What blue is it?

Agree, Congratulations, sounds like a nice unmolested car That babies loaded all right, she’s going to weigh more than my L-72 coupe :-). A real luxury cruiser…. although the sidepipes (Side mounted exhaust /off-road service) seem a little out of place on a loaded cruiser.

Well maybe you have saw a lot of 300 HP auto AC Corvettes with factory side exhaust but i have had over 300 Corvettes and looked at thousands 7 this is the first real on I have seen. Car is marina blue/bright blue vinyl. I just got what you meant. Just like 435'S and black/red ones. LOL

Yes the side pips are what make it rare to me. Most corvettes with auto usually did have lots of options but not with side pipes.

I was hoping you where going to say lyndale or Elkhart blue with teal blue interior. That is sort of the rarest of the rare of blues I have seen plenty of Marina blue on blue 300 autos with AC. But most if not all have owner added side pipes. And most have no docs. Having docs to prove that makes the car rarer then any that is if the docs are real. It’s really sad I think of that when talking about a base engine auto car but people will stop at nothing

And there is no shame at all in that car. I would love to have a cruiser like that

The favorite corvette that I have is a Lyndale /White 390 AC vinyl hard top TI PS PB 4 speed. I had a Lyndale/Teal & a White/Teal 435 convertibles I am finding that people are now looking for autos with AC ETC now that they can get newer HP corvettes and lots of people cant drive a 4-speed. A 66 sold on BAT that was on this forum for 70000.00 bring 85000.00 on there. .

Congrats Ken on finding your friend this great car. I know you had been looking for him for a long time and looked at a lot of cars before you found this one. I am not a fan of side pipes on anything but I truly appreciate the rarity of finding a car like this. Anxiously waiting to see pictures.

I'll come clean on this.
Just before I decided on my silver/black leather L78 convertible I was all over a white 67 L79 automatic convertible, blue gut with AC. My friends tease me about my penchant for AC in my old cars. 6 of the 9 have factory air. It was usually the most expensive option and the most coveted. I'm always jealous of an owner of an ac equipped midyear. In the final analysis it was the automatic and not that I couldn't live with one. I already have one in an Impala and I don't want two. Besides my Vette is my only manual transmission and we all need at least one.

If I was presented with a sharp white L79 and AC, in the equal condition of my car, I would sign up. I have 3 white cars. But I would take a white Stingray - especially the coupe as white accentuates its haunches and looks sharp.

Dan

My friend passed on this Corvette because he decided he wanted a coupe & not blue or red. I couldnt pass this car up so I will keep it for now.

Hmm I need some clarification on this. So around what VIN were they available. This car is absolutely factory installed pipes and the VIN is less the 2000.
