So you are not comfortable with what your gauge is showing. What temps are you seeing? Have you tested with a IR gun pointed at the thermostat housing? How old is your radiator? Your gauge may be at fault. Distilled water and Zerex G-05 is the best.

Your temperature gauge might not be accurate. Get a DeWitt's Electric Fan Radiator. The built in thermostat kicks in at 195F and off at 175F. No more worries. Doesn't really matter than what your temperature gauge reads.

Most people don't because they do not follow the directions. Wetter water is a surfactant/lubricant that allegedly allows you to run straight distilled water. It is the high content WATER that reduces the coolant system temperature, not the additive. So if you just add a bottle to a 50/50 mix, you'll see nothing.
