Want to order a cloth top for my '66. Stayfast from the usualy vendors a bit over $500 but some on Ebay for a couple hundred less. Any experience? Says 29 sold..
Thanks guys. I dug a little deeper into this Ebay seller, a lot of complaints. There are two reviews on their C2 tops if you look at the Ebay link, one good, one bad. I don't know how many places are actually making these stayfast tops being sold though the Corvette parts folks, thought maybe this might be a factory outlet Maybe so but I'm not going to take the chance, too much effort involved for something that might not be right.
those eBay tops do not attach at the rear bow the correctly, they glue onto the rear bow and dont rely on the rear weatherstrip to keep the top attached like originally designed. easier to install, but I would not trust them. I bought one, supplied them with pics on how it was incorrect thinking it was just a mistake, they said thats how they are made, I sent it back and got one from Al Knoch.

I had a Stayfast top installed on our 62, in 2000 (now going on 21 years old). Could not be happier with it.
Note that is does "shrink" a very minor amount, which is only noticeable when it is left down for a period, and then when it goes back up, it is harder to latch. But the amount of shrinkage is nothing like what is seen on vinyl tops.
Why stay fast instead of OEM style vinyl? I am also in the market for a top too and wondered what the difference was and why choose one over the other
Well, if you want it to be NCRS correct and are interested in having your car judged then stay with the vinyl.
Otherwise IMHO the Stayfast/Haartz cloth is much superior. It is thicker, quieter, available in more colors and has a “richer” appearance. I went the dark blue on my Marina Blue 67, and prefer it over the original white vinyl.

That color looks GREAT! If I ever feel the need to replace my white top that is the color I would choose for my Nassau blue car.
There have been a few previous threads about white cloth tops and I am not sure of the outcome but it sounded like a hassle to get one. Do a search about them.
I've ordered an Al Knoch (I hope) from the link above. The link directs to Top Flight Automotive. After I paid, I got notice that it was being shipped from their manufacturer, 3-5 weeks delivery. I'm in no hurry, just hope it's the real deal.

It's the real deal. Al Knoch makes them and ships direct. If I recall Top Flight Automotive was having a sale so I save a little ordering from them instead of direct from Al Knoch. As stated I was very satisfied with the top in all respects.
That tan certainly looks nice on your red 62 which appears to not be Roman Red, but a much nicer color. Mine is candy apple red with a black interior. I wonder how the tan top would go with the black interior??
