According to the book "Standard Catalog of Corvette" by John Gunnell, yes.

If you are thinking of doing it, I would recommend it. I have a 65 327/300. I significantly boosted the power of the engine and put on the front F40 springs and sway bar. Made a noticeable difference.

If your going to track the car, yes. If not I would not want to sacrifice the stock springs ride for the F40 suspension.

Agree, the F40/41 should only be considered for serious hi-perf cars/owners. I’ve had it on both my 327/375 and solid lifter 427, wouldn’t trade it for anything, but, if you are a moderate RPM, civilized, comfort/cruiser type, forget it, way to intense for you.

Actually I respectfully disagree. I have the stock suspension except for the F40 upgrade. I do have more power than stock. But I just cruise with the car and like to take it through the twisties. The F40 is great for cruising and I would not go back. I have always liked a stiffer suspension that gives me more control. So it really depends on your particular likes.

Now I currently run it with 15” garbage tires which of course soften the ride. I am planning an upgrade there perhaps with a smaller sidewall and then “maybe” it might get a little intense. We will see.

I also note that I only have the F40 on the front. I have left the rear alone. It works well that way.

You agreed to 68Hemi’s comment to my post number 7. I respectfully disagreed with your comment and also 68Hemi’s. Read my post number 7.

Well, respectfully, , I’m/we’re talking F40/41 “suspension”, it was a factory option/package…. you’re talking a mix/match of factory parts (front springs and bar only change).

So back to my original comment: “If you are thinking of doing it, I would recommend it. I have a 65 327/300. I significantly boosted the power of the engine and put on the front F40 springs and sway bar. Made a noticeable difference.”

As I said, I stand by that, including for a cruiser.

Exactly.

If you had the stiffer 7 leaf rear spring and the HD shocks there would be a noticeable difference. With that rear spring the “street ride” would be much harsher. I switched out to that HH rear spring and HD shocks on a prior midyear years ago and quickly tired of it.

yes, , I’m personally not one for mis-matching parts from factory engineered options/packages

That is certainly one view and the beauty of this hobby is that there are so many different views. There is something for everyone. For me what is so appealing about the Corvette, especially the C2, is that since I was a kid people have been customizing it, mismatching parts and making it “better”. This has all been with the goal of making the car suit themselves, making a personal statement. I dont think there is another car in America that has had such a history of modification/persoanalization. Heck, when the 64s came out there was even a video on how to remove the split window in a 63 to make it look like a 64! (Now of course the customizations go in the opposite direction and everyone wants to make the 64 into a 63.)

So for me I will mis-match parts all day long to achieve a car that suits me and is “better” and I do think there are a lot of others who are also not in the “originalists” camp. However, I do understand that mis-matching turns some people off and some modifications are just plain wrong (as perhaps the owner of this car came to appreciate—I doubt this was a factory engineered package).

Ha ha ha

I have the full F40 package on my car with first drive looming
It will be interesting to see how I like it, or not
Like Ron, I have significantly increased the power on my car
