Hood Emblems
There are 5 years of C2's. Both the 63 & 64 did not have a hood emblem. Looking thru the catalogs there is no listing for the 65. However, there are hood emblems listed for 66 & 67. Yet when I look at photos of the 67's I see the hood is plain as well.
I'm some what assured that there were end of production runs where they used what ever was available.
But what is the general rule for the 65 - 66 & 67s?

Morning...As vettebuyer6369 noted the only hood emblem noted was on the 66, as far as the 67 goes they had hood call outs on the BB is that considered an emblem

I was just referring to the "Corvette" emblem.
The reason for my inquiry is that I found a used OEM hood to replace the hand laid one for my 65. In that it may have been altered for a 66. There are crude post nut access holes in the reinforcement structure. Whatever the case may be, it fits great.
My 63 hood has a date stamped in to the rear flange that the long weatherstrip glues to. The date was 12-16-62. for a early Feb. car.
The date 12-16 is my daughters birthday but she was born in 1976.

As I understand it (and I’ve seen some) some of the early 66 cars they came from the factory with those crude holes, as the factory modified the left over 65 hoods and put them on some of the first 66s
