Oil pump Extension
Well, I sure wasn't thinking when I thought I could drop the oil pump extension down through the distributor hole after installing the pump rather than place the extension on top of the pump before I mounted the pump on the bearing cap. Of course, the metal sleeve at the bottom of the extension won't fit through the hole in the block so I can't drop it in from the top. Is there any miracle solution other than taking the oil pan back off and removing the pump?

While your redoing this, make sure the pan rail holes are not dimpled from previous over tightening. If they are, flatten them and then bolt up, but don't use gorilla strength on them.
