Does anyone with a factory air in their C2 use a more modern/efficient compressor? My original is still doing the job, but if there is something that was lighter and used up less HP I would make the change. This is not a NCRS car so engine bay changes don't bother me.
When my original A/C compressor gave up the ghost, I went with a Pro6Ten compressor. It uses all the factory connections but weighs about a third of the factory 34 lb compressor. It works fantastically well. I sent my original compressor to Domenic Tallaritta (sp) and he returned to me a piece of art. If you decide to go aftermarket, keep your original compressor for the next caretaker...they may want to return to original status. Picture of the Pro6Ten compressor with front shield. Either Pro6Ten or ALMA A6 Compressor (also known as APCO............ALMA Products Company). Both are much improved over original. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Search the archives for info.
