Default interior lights

67 convertible
None of my interior courtesy lights were working when either door was open, the bulbs are ok.
Today when I opened the drivers door the lights came on! Only once and then stopped working again.
It would seem something is loose, any suggestions on where to start, since opening neither door did not turn the lights on I would think it is not the contact switches.

I would start width the jamb switches, manually push and pull them, then check the bulb s and sockets.

Rotate the headlight switch and see if the interior lights come on. If they do, there is an issue with the door jamb switches, most likely.

You got two good suggestions above. It's possible that the door jamb switches are misadjusted too far in so that the two pieces don't touch, pulling out on them could point to the problem. Rotating the dash light switch fully counter clockwise would eliminate that possibility if they work then. The bottom fuse (brake/courtesy) feeds the voltage. It's electrically possible that the fuse is loose either internally or in the clip that holds it, though the brake lights should also be intermittent. If the lights aren't working, wiggle that fuse a little and see if they come on or flicker.

sometimes just a little dielectric grease in the bulb base / socket does the trick

Rotating the Head light switch turns on the interios lights. Does this indicate that bolth door contact switches are not functioning?
How are they removed to be checked?

Simply reach in towards the door contact switches with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the head of the door switch pin all the way out. No need to go gorilla, just a nice firm pull. Do both sides, close the door and then re-open and see if the interior lights come on. That is all that is necessary to reset the door switches. Doubtful both of them actually went bad at the same time.

Grabbed the contact with needle nose pliers pulled and twisted the contacts and the interior lights are working.
Thanks for the help guys.
