I have the headlight switch out and bout an aftermarket one that tough to get the **** in and out with out major screwing around with it.
my real question is for tightening the lock but I ordered this tool from zip and the whole nut goes right inside the tool
assuming they send the wrong one?
Start the nut back on the switch by hand so you don't cross thread it, then I use a large wide flat blade screwdriver to tighten it down. Never needed that tool.
I found the threads on the aftermarket switches are not "user friendly" and require a lot of finesse to get the nut attached. Patience is your friend. I'll agree to the use of needle nose pliers to tighten AFTER you have it finger tight.
I had no problem starting it but between the aftermarket switch and after market ****
they won’t click together, the button seems pretty much useless
i actually disassembled it and can get it locked in while off the dash
once installed it’s not going in
i stopped for the night before I scratch my newly painted dash

Man, I totally get that! It's so frustrating with the poor quality seen in so many replacement parts today. That instrument panel is absolutely gorgeous tho! Gonna look great once installed!

To update this the aftermarket **** was going in I could hear a click but was not engaging
as so as I pull it out it’s not hooked in
i took a small file and filed the end of the rod that slips the the little bracket in the headlight switch
did not take a lot but it finally clicked in and should work
although the button does not seem to release it at the moment lol
thamks for the earlier help
