The ignition switch in my 1961 Corvette failed, and so I bought a new one, part # 1KH400BD, complete with an ignition lock and key, part # 1KB320BG. I had not problem removing the failed ignition using a paper clip. Installed the new switch and lock as per directions. After a few times using the switch it came loose in the dash and so I thought I would remove the switch and remount it more securely. After many attempts to remove the lock assembly using a paper clip, it will not come out of the switch. Any ideas ? Has anyone been able to use a different method ?

Pending direct experience that I do not have try these,
1. Use a different key and shoot a shot of WD40 in the keyhole first.
2. Try a shot of WD40 in the paperclip hole
Then, with paper clip in one hand and key in the other you will need to manipulate both, jiggle, until you find the right combination of motion that does the trick. You may have to work a while. I suspect a re-pop switch with skewed dimensional qualities. We see that a lot with new parts.
Will the key continue to turn counter-clockwise after insertion of the paper clip and holding in the pin? Sometimes you need to push the cylinder assembly in as you turn more counter-clockwise. Jiggle a little.
Bout all I know. Aggrivating isn't it??
