Default Chrome plating cost estimates

For those who have actual experience with replating C1 parts..................... how much would I expect to pay for nice driver quality 57 grille, grille oval and windshield frame rechroming? The parts do have some pitting but nothing is broken. Just asking for a guesstimate.

Thanks,
Rex

I paid about about $2K in 2009 for 4 bumpers, grill surround, and windshield frame, including polish and flash chrome the stainless on the WS frame. I think the bumpers were about $1200 of that.

You gotta get the right chromer to do the pot metal on the grill surrands and WS posts. The wrong chrome shop can pit those up during chroming.

2 years ago Librandi's plated my grill oval and fixed a crack for $900. The windshield post cost $355 each. New grill teeth are the way to go as rechroming is about $100/tooth.

Doug's numbers are pretty close to mine.. I did it about 5 years ago.
I ended up going with repops on the eyebrows and grill surrounds.. The plating cost on those pieces was more than the cost of the repops.. and they have been fine and look great.

Rex
I am doing a 56 right now
Oval 800
Teeth - dont bother - buy new from C Central - otherwise they are 125.00 plus each to rechrome
I use a shop in Indy for options to my customers for chrome
http://www.chromeplatingin.com/

Brett and I both use them
Great people
They have specific Corvette pricing - see the website

Rex, I used Dan's Polishing and Chrome in Adamsville, TN for my '57 parts about 5-6 years ago. My grille oval was re-plated for $500, the w/s posts were $160 each, and the door posts were $180, which included filling a hole in each from a removed tonneau cover snap. I thought at the time they were quite reasonable and I am sure that their prices have gone up. They used to have all those items listed on their website with pricing, but I see now that is no longer the case. I was very happy with their work, and it looks as good today as when I got it back from them.
