Default knock off wheels

I want to go with knock off wheels for my 63. Are the bolt on safer or easier to install? I'd like the spinner because its more original but the bolt on seem safer? Any truth to that?

Dozens of threads on this subject, might want to do a search - you'd likely get fewer fatigue frustration replies.

Bolt-ons are easier, therefore vaguely safer, for mechanically disinclined. However, properly installed knock offs are every bit as safe as bolt ons.

^^^^THIS^^^^^

If knock-off wheels weren't safe, I wouldn't have used them on my vintage racer and on my bride's track car. In thousands of track miles, we never lost a wheel.

I've had them on my car since 1983. That said, there are several ways to install them wrong and you will likely hear from folks who have found that out the hard way. So if you go for them, read up on how to do it right and wrong so you do it right.

Save yourself the angst, get the bolt on wheels and then drive the miles, and you'll get the smiles! Dennis

Follow the instructions when mounting the wheels and you're good to safely go. Here's how I look at this ---I know how I would have felt if it turned out my date had stuffed her bra with a set of falsies. So if you're going to do KO's, how will you feel if you did not get the real things.

Well, the difference is when we’re running hard and we hit those twistiest just before I drive her home, she could get a black eye from the real thing. Where as the falsies keep her safe and never ruin the beauty of a satisfying driving experience.

That said, if you are a master in the cockpit either is very satisfying.
