Default Hardtop

I recently purchased a hardtop for my 58 that I was told came off of a original 58 car and the top was original. After removing the headliner it is stamped "Manufactured by Sterling Industries out of Ohio. Did they make the top for GM of is this a aftermarket top? Thanks

This made me curious. Here is a John Hinckley post from another board:
C1 hardtops were manufactured/assembled/painted by Sterling Precision Products in Toledo, Ohio, and delivered to St. Louis as a finished assembly, ready for installation; all St. Louis did was to remove it from the shipping rack and install it on the car.

The address looks looks to be an older style (Toledo 8, Ohio) and there's no ZIP code, which means it's probably dated pre-1963.

Yes, here is a pic of my '57's top, which is original to the car. Rich
