Default Got Lost

Several days ago, I initiated a new thread entitled Wheel and Tire and it went like this:After 4.5 years, I am getting close to completing the restomod on my '65 roadster. Last week, I finally let to down on wheels for the first time and was a little disappointed at the stance. I am running speed direct steeroids rack and pinion up front the speed direct sharkbite in the rear. The wheels are year one 17x8 with 4.5 inch backspace and 0 offset. I used the GM muscle car oil pan on the GM crate LS3 that I put in the car. It is much deeper than I had expected and I'm nervous about how close it is to the ground. So I adjusted the ride height. It helped but is still close - 3" ground clearance. Additionally, I am having some geometry problems with the sharkbite which I think I can correct if my tires were taller. The current tires are Diamondback gold lines 215/50R/17 tread width is 7.9' and section width is 9'' and they are 25.4" tall. If I could install (on the rear) 255/50R/17 thread width is 9.3" and section width is 10.4" and they are 27.1" tall. I could gain almost an inch in ride height just by installing them and I think it would solve my sharkbite rockerarm interference problem. It is the original frame and I sent the trailing arms out to V-tec corvette for rebuild and blueprint so they are original configuration as well. I have tried to take measurements with the rear wheel in place to get a reference for clearance to the frame but it is difficult so I'm not real confident about it.

My question is: Has anyone used this size tire in a similar configuration and were you successful?
Thanks so much for your help,
Regards,
jp .

Someone requested photos of the car which I thought I had uploaded but I think they got lost so I'll try again.

I will send more of the build if you interested but am still looking for feedback from my original wheel and tire question. Thanks
